Nathalie’s wedding planning began after Kerry’s proposed at dinner on a Monday night at a local steakhouse in Ruston, Louisiana. The couple began their wedding planning journey from 5 hours away!
In early November 2018, Nathalie and Kerry tied the knot under a canopy of oak trees at the Southern Oaks Plantation. The New Orleans venue served as both the ceremony and reception location. Incorporating their own personal tastes (check out the groom’s cake) as well as relying on rich southern traditions, the couple create a comfortable and homey feel for all of their guests.
When Nathalie began her wedding dress journey at MaeMe, she really did not think she would find a dress; however, Nathalie and her stylist looked through her inspiration photos together and she shared her vision of how she pictured herself feeling on her special day. Natalie found the PERFECT halter neckline, lace wedding gown with a completely open back designed by Essense of Australia. The gorgeous fit and flare wedding gown complimented the bride’s vision for looking both classic and romantic. In looking back on her wedding day, Nathalie gushed and said she, “loved and still loves everything about her dress!” A gorgeous cathedral length veil framed the bride’s silhouette during the beautiful ceremony.
The bride and bridesmaids spent the morning getting ready at the Omni Royal Crescent Hotel. She Laughs Hair & Makeup made the bride and bridal party look extra glamorous. For accessories, Nathalie paired gemstone earrings and a bracelet to pull in the deep winter colors within her flowers and bridesmaids gowns. Her bridesmaids wore a variety of designers including Jenny Yoo, Watters and Sorella Vita. Behind the camera, capturing this memorable day was Collin Richie. One of the most memorable parts of the day for the bride was when she did a first look with both her father and the groom. “Plus being able to have that captured in pictures and video makes it all the much better!” exclaimed bride, Nathalie. Videography for the ceremony was provided by JCW Productions.
After Kerry kissed his bride, the couple lead their party into the reception area with catering by Southern Oaks Plantation, followed by dancing into the night. A classic 3 tiered wedding cake baked by Bittersweet Confections adorned with flowers sat front and center, but what caught everyone’s attention was the groom’s cake (also baked by Bittersweet Confections) that was inspired by the couple’s favorite show, Game of Thrones. As fireworks filled the night sky, the couple and their guests ended the night in true New Orleans style by dancing out to a second line, including customized bride and groom umbrellas.
