What is a VIB appointment?
At MaeMe, everyday is a celebration! Our bridal team specializes in creating memorable moments for our brides and considers it pure joy when we help a bride find her dream wedding gown! Our VIB appointments are designed for the bride who desires to elevate her wedding dress shopping journey with a customized and intimate experience. Our VIB brides have the option of two appointment packages: the semi-private Matinee Experience during the day Monday through Friday ($299) and the private Soiree Experience after hours ($399) that can be scheduled Monday through Saturday. How long will it take for my dress to arrive?
After a wedding dress order has been placed, it takes approximately four to six months to arrive, so please take that into consideration! Once your wedding dress arrives, you will want to allow three months for alterations, and be sure to include enough time for bridal portraits if you are planning on taking portraits prior to the wedding day. We recommend purchasing your wedding dress nine months to one year prior to your wedding day to avoid rush fees and enjoy the experience to the fullest. If your wedding is less than 6-9 months away, we invite you to give us a call so we can talk through various shipping options. In addition, we have a selection of beautiful designer gowns that are available in boutique to purchase the same day! YES, some brides literally walk out of the boutique with their wedding dress in hand!
What size wedding dresses do you have in store?
We have dresses in a variety of sizes ranging from 8 – 34 in boutique, with more than 100 dresses sizes 16 – 34! Keep in mind: bridal sizes run slightly smaller than regular clothing, so if you are usually a size 10 in casual wear, you would probably wear a size 12-14 in bridal dresses.
How do I know what size wedding dress to order?
The manufacturer suggests ordering a wedding dress based on the bride’s fullest measurement and using the designer’s specific size chart. A MaeMe stylist will measure you and recommend the most appropriate size based on your measurements; however, size choice is ultimately the bride’s decision. It is important to remember that wedding dresses do not fit like regular clothing and generally require alterations to achieve the desired fit.
Are bridal dress alterations included when I purchase my dress?
The Alteration Shoppe is MaeMe’s preferred alteration shop; however, it is not affiliated or employed by MaeMe. As such, MaeMe cannot be held responsible for alterations completed. The Alteration Shoppe has 6 full-time seamstresses who specialize in bridal alterations with expert skill and experience. The seamstresses at The Alteration Shoppe have been tailoring wedding dresses for MaeMe brides for many years! Nearly all wedding dresses require a hem, a bustle, and additional tailoring through the bodice, as many women are combination sizing. The Alteration Shoppe can also customize sleeves, straps, necklines and other details. The cost of alteration services is dependent upon the fabric of the gown, design details of the gown, silhouette and style of the gown, and customer preferences related to fit and customization. Complimentary consultations are available by appointment. All fittings will be scheduled directly through The Alteration Shoppe by calling 504.218.5994. The Alteration Shoppe is located at 3225 Danny Park Suite 201 in Metairie.
How do I pay for my dress?
All special order merchandise is to be paid in full or requires a 60% partial payment along with a financing fee. We accept all credit cards, debit cards, and cash. Payments can be made in person, over the phone, or online through the client portal. All balances are due within 14 days of the merchandise arriving to the boutique.
What is your cancellation policy?
In the event that you cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled bridal appointment or do not show up, a fee of $100 will be charged to the credit card you use when booking your appointment. We understand that life happens and is often unpredictable! As a courtesy to you, we will contact you in advance of your appointment to confirm. Appointments cancelled prior to 24 hours in advance will not incur a cancellation fee. Thank you for understanding and respecting our staff and fellow brides!
Can I buy my dress off the rack and take it home today?
In most cases, sure! You are welcome to purchase our in-stock gowns! For quick weddings or if you are looking for a great deal, gowns may be purchased and taken home same day. Just remember, the gown will be sold in an “as is” condition, and any cleaning or repairs will be at the buyer’s expense. All merchandise purchased from our in-stock inventory will need to be paid in full at the time of purchase.
How many people can I bring with me to my appointment?
In most cases, we can accommodate up to 4 guests plus the bride! Guests must be over the age of 10. We do have our designated Luxe Showroom that is booked on a first come, first served basis and can accommodate 6 guests plus the bride! We encourage you to book your appointment in advance if you anticipate bringing more than 4 guests so we can best accommodate your party! The Luxe showroom must be booked on the phone with a MaeMe team member due to the limited availability.
What should I bring with me to my wedding dress shopping appointment?
We know that shopping for your wedding gown is a once in a lifetime experience shared with your closest family and friends. Most of our MaeMe brides have success bringing one to four guests with them to find THE ONE! Ultimately, we want you to feel confident and gorgeous when you stand in front of the mirror because we believe every bride should experience pure joy with the people she loves most by her side! In addition to your entourage, we recommend wearing flesh colored undergarments to try on dresses.
What is the price range of the gowns in your store?
It has always been our mission to provide a variety of bridal gown options at affordable prices. Our wedding dresses range from just under $1,400 to $4,500. Your stylist will work with you closely to ensure you are comfortable with the style and price range of gowns selected.
How long will my appointment last?
Each bridal appointment is 90 minutes long. This allows enough time for your stylist to get to know you and understand your vision for your wedding, try on four to ten gowns, narrow down your selection and make an informed decision on which dress is THE ONE! Surprisingly, many of our brides say YES to one of their first dresses, so an hour and a half is plenty of time!
Please arrive on time for your appointment. In most cases, we have appointments immediately prior to and immediately following your appointment. If you are more than 15 minutes late to your appointment, we will need to reschedule.
How can I browse your gowns before my appointment?
After you book your appointment, you will receive a link to view your profile in our client portal. Here, you can browse our live inventory, add gowns to your favorites, and make changes to your appointment. You will also be able to make payments and view the status of your order after you have said, “Yes!”
What happens when my wedding dress arrives?
Well, another magical day, of course! You will receive a phone call from one of our MaeMe stylists to schedule a pick up and try on appointment once your dress and accessories have arrived to the boutique. If you have not yet selected accessories, this is a great time to shop our accessories selection! You will take your beauty home with you, unless you would like to store your gown at MaeMe for $35/month. All balances must be paid at this appointment and prior to setting up a storage agreement.
