Real MaeMe Bride Lauren + Dylan
The bride and groom’s fairytale began in college at the University of Louisiana in Lafayette. Mutual friends brought the couple together, and after immediately hitting it off, they both knew the rest was history.
During the summertime, Dylan surprised Lauren with a weekend getaway to Waco, Texas, a destination that the bride always wanted to visit (thank you Chip & Joanna)! Naturally, the outdoorsy couple hiked the beautiful scenery Lauren had seen in the Magnolia Journal. They arrived at a romantic overlook, appropriately named “Lover’s Leap,” where Dylan knelt down and asked Lauren to marry him. With tears streaming down her face, Lauren, of course, accepted! She said, “it was the perfect proposal for us!”
On August 4th, Lauren and Dylan became the McDaniels. It was a warm and sunny day in New Orleans, Louisiana. Lauren’s bridesmaids, dressed in their wedding blue floral pajamas, spent the day with the bride bonding and getting pampered. Her bridesmaids complimented Lauren’s gown by wearing cornflower floor length gowns from Hayley Paige Occasions. Lauren gifted each bridesmaid with pearl earrings from Heidi Hull Designs, all purchased from The Bridal Boutique by MaeMe.
Lauren’s wedding vision was “very classic but simple.” The bride selected greenery and white flowers for the entire wedding party, designed by Connie Ledet. Lauren and Dylan said ‘I do’ at Immaculate Conception Jesuit Church followed by an upbeat reception at The Federal Ballroom. The groom and groomsmen dressed in classic black tuxedos with a boutonniere placed on the lapel. Lauren looked stunning in a gorgeous Martina Liana gown with cap sleeves and an elegant cameo back. Lauren gave us her best advice from her dress shopping experience saying, “I went in with an open mind and had an idea of what I wanted, but it was the complete opposite of what I expected.” Once she said ‘yes’ to her dream gown, the staff at MaeMe helped her choose the perfect veil and accessories to complete her bridal ensemble.
Lauren and Dylan’s reception was at The Federal Ballroom, where guests gathered together on the dance floor with United We Jam. Gourmet catering by Capdebosc Catering and live painting by Tracy Wisehart-Plaisance were two of the many highlights from their wedding night. The bride’s favorite memory of the entire night was seeing her and her husband’s families come together in one place at the same time to celebrate their marriage! We are so thrilled for Lauren and Dylan and wish them many many years of wedded bliss!
